Hajj Introduction Sunnan

 

1)     To wear the Ihraam of Hajj in the months of Hajj.

 

2)     To perform Tawaaf-e-Qudoom by the Aafaaqi who is a Mufrid or a Qaarin.

 

3)     To perform Tawaaf-e-Qudoom by those residents of Makkah who leave the Meeqat and then re-enter the

         Meeqat after adorning the Ihraam for Ifraad or Qiraan.

 

4)     To listen to the Khutba on the 7th of Zil Hajj after Zuhr Salaat in the Haram.

 

5)     To proceed to Mina from Makkah on the 8th of Zil Hajj after sunrise but before Zawwaal.

 

6)     To read five Salaat in Mina, from Zuhr of the 8th of Zil Hajj till Fajr of the 9th of Zil Hajj inclusive.

 

7)     To spend the entire night of the 8th, 10th, 11th, (and 12th, if need be), of Zil Hajj at Mina.

 

8)     To proceed to Arafaat from Mina after sunrise on the 9th of Zil Hajj.

 

9)     To refrain from proceeding to Arafat before the Imam of Hajj.

 

10)   To perform Ghusl in Arafat on the 9th of Zil Hajj before Zawwaal.

 

11)   To listen to the Khutba at Zuhr time at Masjid-un-Namerah on the 9th of Zil Hajj.

 

12)   For the Imam to deliver two Khutba after Zawwaal, but before the Zuhr prayers, at Masjid-e-Namerah on

         the 9th of Zil Hajj.

 

13)   To offer the Zuhr and Asr Salaat consecutively at Masjid-e-Namerah on the 9th of Zil Hajj.

 

14)   To perform Wuqoof-e-Arafat standing.

 

15)   To perform Wuqoof-e-Arafat immediately after the combined prayers of Zuhr/Asr.

 

16)   To raise the hands in Duaa during Wuqoof-e-Arafat.

 

17)   To proceed to Muzdalifah from Arafat immediately after sunset on the 9th of Zil Hajj.

 

18)   To stay the entire night at Muzdalifah on one’s return from Arafat.

 

19)   To perform Wuqoof-e-Muzdalifah standing.

 

20)   To raise the hands during Wuqoof-e-Muzdalifah.

 

21)   To leave Muzdalifah for Mina approximately 5 minutes before sunrise on the 10th of Zil Hajj.

 

22)  To pelt the Big Jamaraat only on the 10th of Zil Hajj between sunrise and Zawwaal.

 

23)  To pelt any Jamaraat in such a standing position that Mina is to the right and Makkah to the left.

 

24)  To pelt with the right hand.

 

25)  To pelt the stones consecutively.

 

26)  To have the hair shaven or trimmed in Mina.

 

27)  To have Halq as opposed to Qasr.

 

28)  To face the Qibla when having Halq/Qasr.

 

29)  For men, to shave or trim the entire head in order to be released from the Ihraam of Hajj.

 

30)  To perform Tawaaf-e-Ziyaarat immediately after shaving or trimming the hair, not before.

 

31)   To listen to the Khutba delivered on the 11th of Zil Hajj at Masjid-e-Khaif in Mina at the time of Zuhr.

 

32)  To pelt all the three Jamaraat on the 11th and 12th of Zil Hajj, (and if need be, on the 13th), between

         Zawwaal and sunset.

 

33)  To make Duaa after pelting the first and second Jamaraat only on the 11th and 12th, (and if need be on

         the 13th), of Zil Hajj.

 

34)  To pelt the Jamaratul-Ulaa first, followed by the Jamaratul-Wustaa and lastly the Jamaratul-Aqabah on

         the 11th and 12th, (and if need be, on the 13th), of Zil Hajj.

 

35)  To stay over in Mina for the 13th of Zil Hajj.

 

36)  To pause at Muhassab, (Abtah), for a short while for Duaa on the return from Mina to Makkah either on

         the 12th, (or 13th), of Zil Hajj.

 

Ruling

 

a.    It is bad to omit a Sunnat intentionally and there is great reward in observing it.

 

b.    However, there is no Jazaa for omitting it.
